Heralded for its absorbent qualities, light weight and breathability, linen often permeates thoughts of summer. So much so that the fabric itself now wields an inherent charm due to its associations with Mediterranean yachting and the like - conjuring thoughts of soft white trousers and barely-buttoned, soft collared shirts with rolled up sleeves - worn with moccasins and designer sunglasses, aboard a 120 footer of course.
Linen however, is much more versatile than many give it credit for - available in both heavier variations that are appropriate for winter, and in blends which imbue wools, silks and cashmeres with textural nuances and robustness. Similarly, these materials imbue in linen the sense of formality that it’s often missing.
Cut from a heavy linen, this navy double breasted ensemble captures linen in a slightly more formal light than what is perhaps typical. @maidookini
